Caliper Tools

What is Caliper hand tools?

Most calipers permit reading out a measurement on a ruled Vernier scale, a dial, or a digital display. The tips of the caliper are adjusted to fit across the points to be measured and then the caliper is then removed and the distance read by measuring between the tips with a measuring tool, such as a ruler.

Tool makers and quality control inspection line of any workshop need a set of hand tools that are precise, graduating in increments and easier to handle. Whatever the metalworking, woodworking or other inspection project, specific measuring tools will help you build any work piece better with tighter fits and a better outcome. measure the distance between two opposite sides of an object.

In machine-shop usage, the term “caliper” is often used in contradistinction to “micrometer”, even though outside micrometers are technically a form of caliper. In this usage, “caliper” implies only the form factor of the vernier or dial caliper (or its digital counterpart). Caliper and micrometer are used in many fields and application such as mechanical engineering, metalworking, forestry, woodworking, science and medicine.
